Somathai™

Trainings

Somathai™ Trainings are intimate, practice-intensive spaces for those beginning their path in bodywork as well as those with experience, offering a place to build skill and deepen the work from the inside out.

Floor-based Thai bodywork is taught as a responsive, cohesive practice. Structured sequences are paired with principles that support the nervous system through touch, rhythm, and pacing. The work focuses on offering the body what helps it feel safe enough to settle, organize, and respond.

Technique is taught clearly.
Application is refined through practice.

As hands become more skilled, perception becomes more precise. Decision-making steadies. Sessions begin to feel less memorized and more lived.

Touch becomes something you think less about and trust more.

In these trainings you will learn how to:

  • Apply Thai principles with discernment rather than repetition

  • Adapt sequences while staying grounded in the principles that guide the work

  • Make thoughtful decisions based on what you feel and observe

  • Understand the reasoning beneath each technique, not just the movement

Training cohorts are intentionally small to preserve depth and relational presence.

Students both give and receive the work. Through this reciprocal process, patterns of regulation, effort, and boundary naturally come into view.

You will leave these trainings with refined perception, more confident decision-making, and a deeper trust in your relationship to touch.

Module 1 - Foundations

Module 1 introduces the structure and core principles of Somathai™ in a welcoming, clear, and steady way.

Students learn a complete, full-body session, including supine, prone, and seated work, with clear, step-by-step guidance. You’ll understand how a session is built, how to transition safely around the body, and how to use your body weight effectively.

Alongside technique, this module introduces core somatic principles, including nervous system regulation and co-regulation through touch. You will learn to recognize sensation, track breath, and respond to basic nervous system patterns in both yourself and the person receiving the work.

Emphasis is placed on pacing, rhythm, and contact as primary tools for building safety and support. Structure becomes a foundation you can rely on, not something you are locked into.

Learning Outcomes & Objectives

By the end of Module 1, you will be able to:

  • Deliver a structured 90-minute foundational Thai bodywork session

  • Confidently perform supine, prone, and seated techniques

  • Transition safely and sustainably around the body

  • Use body weight and alignment to protect your own body

  • Recognize basic holding patterns and areas of compensation

  • Track sensation and simple nervous system responses during a session

  • Support co-regulation through pacing, rhythm, and touch

  • Practice clear communication and consent within hands-on work

Students leave with practical skills, a clear session framework, and a foundational understanding of how the body communicates through sensation.

Module 2 - Expansion & Fluency

Module 2 builds on the foundation of Module 1 and expands both technique and relational skill.

Students learn additional techniques, including side-lying work, and begin adapting sessions more fluidly.

This module introduces the nervous and limbic systems, deepening your understanding of how emotional and adaptive information presents in the body. You’ll begin to recognize how activation, shutdown, and relational cues show up in the body, and how to meet them without overwhelming the system.

The focus shifts from sequencing to responsiveness. From “What comes next?” to “What is needed here?”

Learning Outcomes & Objectives

By the end of Module 2, you will be able to:

  • Integrate side-lying and expanded techniques into full-body sessions

  • Adapt sequencing based on what you feel and observe

  • Recognize nervous system states and relational cues

  • Work skillfully with emotional information as it presents in the body

  • Adjust pacing and rhythm to support regulation

  • Deepen relational presence without escalating intensity

Module 2 strengthens your ability to stay grounded while working with more complexity.

Module 3 - Advanced Application

Module 3 integrates advanced technique with deeper somatic inquiry and structural understanding.

This course is designed for Module 2 graduates and experienced practitioners ready to refine clinical reasoning and applied skill.

New techniques are introduced alongside osteopathic-informed principles and fascial awareness. This module focuses on working with long-standing structural patterns and more layered presentations.

Somatic inquiry deepens here. We begin to explore how personal patterns, stories, and protective strategies are held in the body and how to meet them with steadiness and care.

The emphasis is thoughtful application without force, and depth without overwhelm.

Learning Outcomes & Objectives

By the end of Module 3, you will be able to:

  • Recognize complex compensation patterns

  • Adapt foundational techniques to meet nuanced structural needs

  • Integrate nervous system regulation within hands-on work

  • Work with fascial continuity and whole-body organization

  • Apply osteopathic-informed principles to long-standing patterns

  • Facilitate deeper somatic inquiry within appropriate scope

  • Structure sessions with clarity and clinical reasoning

Module 3 strengthens your ability to think within the work while remaining grounded, relational, and regulated.
